The study was a cross-sectional survey of a random sample of 112 academic staff of Amoud University in June 2019. The study found that recruitment procedures are poor; only 8% of the staff were properly recruited. The performance of academic staff was generally low at an average of 12%. Only 12% of the staff produced good performance in all measures of aspects functions. Recruitment is a significant predictor of performance of academic staff of Amoud University, F (2, 110) = 34.238, p = .000, and accounts 37.5% of the variance in performance of academic staff.
