Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

An author of AUAJ is the person or persons who submit work to the journal for publication.

AUAJ Article Format and Style

Language and Numbers

  1. The manuscript must be typed single-spaced, written in good grammatical English.
  2. American or British English language is accepted, but not a mixture of both. AUAJ only accept manuscripts written in English language.
  3. The entire document should be in Times New Roman, font 12.
  4. Latin plurals should NOT be used if the English equivalent has become the accepted form. For example, use “Formulas not formulae”. Further, AUAJ recommends:
  5. Use of ‘s’ rather than ‘z’ spellings of words such as ‘organise’.
  6. That long quotations of 40 words or more should be indented without quotation marks.
  • A single space (not a double space) at the end of a sentence, or between any two (2) consecutive sentences.
  1. Use of hyphens, capital letters and numbers written or spelled out (e.g., 8 or eight) should be consistent throughout the manuscript.
  2. When writing numbers, a period (not a comma), is used to represent the decimal point and a comma to separate numbers of more than three digits into groups of three, whether on the left or the right of the decimal point (e.g., use 12, 345.678, and not 12.345.678 or 12 345.678 or 12.345,678).
  3. Decimal points should not exceed three (3) decimal places. However, two (2) decimal places is preferable.
